Occasional Programs
Our activities in the holy month of Ramadan and the season of Hajj — sharing blessings with those who need them most.
Blessings shared, burdens lightened
Our occasional activities are mainly in the holy month of Ramadan and the month of Hajj — Ifthar programs, distribution of dry foods and dresses for needy families, and celebrations that reach the poorest households first.

Ifthar Saaim — Breaking the Fast
First inaugurated in 1997, Ifthar programs are held in selected locations each Ramadan. Requests come from universities, colleges of education and other organizations — with the poorest locations in remote rural areas taking precedence.

Dry Rations
Food hampers of dry provisions containing day-to-day food items are distributed particularly during Ramadan among poor segments of society across Sri Lanka, reducing their life burden. Most beneficiary families are selected from women-headed homes and low-income families.

Ramazan Competition
During the holy month, competitions are held to encourage, enlighten and display the talents of the young and the elderly in their knowledge of Islam — quiz competitions on Islam and Islamic history, and Quran-recital competitions conducted through social media, with valuable gifts for the winners.

Festival Clothes (Kiswa)
With the objective of sharing the joy of Eid celebrations with the poor, clothes are gifted to selected families in rural areas — with priority given to the down-trodden in various parts of the country.
