Social Welfare Programs
Orphan care, emergency aid, self-employment and water — the mainstays of AMYS social welfare.
Standing with those who need it most
We care for orphans, and to build self-sufficient families we help capable, talented individuals build their lives through self-employment. Our primary concern is to strengthen and raise the standard of living of poverty-ridden people across Sri Lanka.

Orphans Care
Caring for orphans is a form of continuous charity — benefiting a person in this world and after. A monthly payment is made towards the educational expenses of orphans, along with outdoor programs such as educational trips, gifts of clothes and school stationery.

Disaster / Emergency Aid
In the aftermath of disasters, emergency relief activities are organized at the earliest possible time — medical and food facilities, tents, clothes and utensils to ease hardship and restore normalcy at an accelerated pace. Medical camps follow natural disasters such as the 2004 tsunami and recurring floods, staffed by general and specialist practitioners amid the gravest need.

Self-Employment
To economically strengthen and socially integrate less-privileged, unemployed youth, facilities are provided to encourage self-employment ventures that generate a regular income. We support beneficiaries financially or with necessary equipment — including livestock for those interested in animal husbandry.

Water Supply
In certain rural and urban locations water is very scarce — in others, drinking water is totally unavailable. For the benefit of people in such locations, AMYS provides deep wells, tube-wells, wells with tanks and water-supply lines.
Give Water. Give Life.
A deep well, a tube well or a water tank transforms mornings, health and dignity for an entire family. Choose a water project today.
